The university has two major thematically focused research institutes: The Institute for Future Environments and the Institute of Health and Biomedical Innovation – the largest medical research institute in the southern hemisphere. Additionally, QUT leads six nationally endorsed research centres including one in Creative Industries and Innovation and one in Robotic Vision.
