About National Sun Yat-sen University:

National Sun Yat-sen University is a public research-intensive university renowned as a official think tank as well as an academic center of oceanology and management studies, located in Sizihwan, Kaohsiung, Taiwan and Pratas Islands, South China Sea. It consists mainly of a considerable number of research institutes. Exchange offices of the US Federal government, Japanese government, and European Commission are present on the campus. Founded in 1980 through the efforts of alumni of both the original Sun Yat-sen University and the historical Moscow Sun Yat-sen University, NSYSU is organized into six colleges, its more than half academic units are research centers and graduate institutes. The university has traditionally been called Taiwan's top three with the programs in applied science, business school, marine sciences, and social science. In addition, NSYSU is often ranked among the world's top 400 universities overall. The university faculty maintain strong ties to industry and government officials, many of them also serve as elite bureaucrats and NGO advisors.
